Five shops. One crew. We're looking for mechanics, welders, and team members who care about doing the job right.
We started 1776 because there weren't enough shops with honest work, good tools, and a team that had each other's back. So we built one.
Coverage starts on day 60. We pay a big part of it.
Time off that grows the longer you stay. Real days off.
Money each year to keep your tools and boots in shape.
We pay for your training. Learn while you earn.
Day shift. Weekends off. No 2 AM phone calls.
Love wrenching? You'll never run out of cool jobs here.
Don't see your role? Apply anyway. Good people always have a place here.
Hours, benefits, remote options, the hiring process, the basics. If your question's not here, call the shop and ask.
[Call] (605) 221-8492All shops run a Monday through Friday day shift, typically 7 AM to 5 PM. No nights, no weekends, no 2 AM call-outs. Overtime is paid after 40 hours, never required.
Health, dental, and vision starting day 60, with 1776 covering a large share of the premium. Paid time off that grows with tenure, paid holidays, an annual tool and boot allowance for techs, and paid training and certifications.
No. Every role here is hands-on and on-site in Chancellor, SD. If you're wrenching, welding, writing service, or talking to customers, you need to be in the shop.
For experienced techs and the right fit, yes. Tell us your situation in the application and we'll talk through it.
1. Apply through the form below. 2. A real person reads it, usually within a few business days. 3. Quick phone call to talk through the role. 4. In-person shop visit so you can meet the crew and see the bay. 5. Offer, start date, and tools-in-hand on day one.
Most hires move from applied to offer in one to two weeks. We're not slow, but we also won't rush the wrong person into the wrong seat.
Depends on the role. Techs benefit from ASE, DOT, or manufacturer certs, but real bay experience counts more. For apprentices and lube techs, no experience is required, just the right attitude. We pay for the training that takes you to the next level.
Apply anyway. Select 'Other / Open Application' in the position dropdown and tell us what you do. Good people always have a place here.
Real person reads every application. We'll get back to you within a few business days, usually sooner.
